Have a blessed weekend

I wish you all a blessed weekend.
I have been considered a misfit since my childhood. No one seemed to understand me. My own father once said to me, “You are not mad enough to be put in a madhouse, and not withdrawn enough to be put in a church. I don’t know what to do with you.”
I replied, “ Dad, A duck’s egg was once put under a hen. When the egg hatched the duckling walked about with the mother hen until they came to a pond. The duckling went straight into the water. The hen stayed clucking anxiously on land. Now, dear father, I have walked into the ocean and find in it my home. You can hardly blame me if you choose to stay on the shore.”

• Am I living up to my original vocation, my deepest call, that is? I guess I am..........how about you?
• Am I living up to my potential - I am and its all on the inside of me! or perhaps leading a mediocre, non-committed kind of life?
• Am I satisfied with simply staying on the shore or bold enough to risk entering the waters? I love entering the waters!!

If you feel like you want to assist us- anything will do- or if you know students who'd love to get some Vocational help. Send them in, we'll do all we can

Confidence is Contagious, Catch it, Spread it !!

From PetesPlace, I thank you all for your support and encouragement. If, for some reason, you are unable to contribute financially, I will be obliged if you could help and share this link with your friends and associates. Thank you in advance.  Read on.

Confidence is Contagious, Catch it, Spread it !!

There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out.
Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him. ”I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.
After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”
He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”
Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!
“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.”
And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.
The reason we suffer with our insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else's highlight reel!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR SUCCESS IS ON THE INSIDE OF YOU

Hi All, Good evening and have a blessed night.
My pain may be the reason for somebody’s laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody’s pain.

There is a very meaningful Zen story that teaches a divine way of solving our conflicts at the work place, or even at home.
The abbot of a once famous Buddhist monastery that gradually started declining was deeply troubled. Monks were lax in their practice, novices were leaving and lay supporters were abandoning the monastery. He travelled far to a sage and recounted his tale of woe—of how much he desired to transform his monastery into a flourishing haven it had been in days of yore. The sage looked at him and said, “The reason your monastery has languished is that the Buddha is living among you in disguise, and you have not honored Him.”
The abbot hurried back, his mind in turmoil. The Selfless One was at his monastery! Who could He be? Brother Hua? No, he was full of sloth. Brother Po? No, he was too dull. He summoned all the monks and revealed the sage’s words. They, too, were taken aback and looked at each other with suspicion and awe. Which one of them was the Chosen One? The disguise was perfect. Not knowing who He was, they took to treating everyone with the respect due to Gautam Buddha. Their faces started shining with an inner radiance that attracted novices and then other supporters. In no time, the monastery far surpassed its previous glory.
The enlightened mystics have always taught us to see the divine in every human being or every living being. But our mind is always in suspicion. Everybody in this world seems to be our competitor of some sort. So, instead of working in harmony with each other and sharing our joy with all, we start living in a private world of our own.
This way we create our mental prisons and become confined to a limited self, while we are designed by existence to transcend our limits.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR SUCCESS IS ON THE INSIDE OF YOU

I liken the work I have started, something similar to this. I see a great future for PetesPlace, something fantastic is what I see. I have asked the Universe to help me get it and I am confident it is on its way. The only reason I have'nt got it yet is because there's someone out there who needs it more, at this moment, than I do. From the shelter of my mind, through the windows of my eyes I see the big picture. A visual and a projection , both running concurrently, on the same screen. One full of life, love and laughter, the other exhibiting pictures of self-doubt and failure and I choose Life, love and laughter. "Behold I put before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curses (self-doubt and failure) - Choose Life!"....lol.....

“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can........

Have a wonder-filled week ahead, Folks. Enjoy my social, moral message for today.

What has this to do with Charity? You have to get in and ‘know’ it. I can write and say a whole lot about it, but that will all be just a hint, a clue, it will not be a description that will justify what you feel, what you ‘know’. A Charity that allows you the privilege of giving freely with No Obligation and to ‘know’ what you are doing, what will relieve you of your ‘yoke’. Now you are free to gallop in the direction you choose, from decision to delivery, it is your Happiness!!

“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”

Of Cabbages and Kings

AA026355One day Akbar and Birbal were riding through the countryside and they happened to pass by a cabbage patch.
“Cabbages are such delightful vegetables!” said Akbar. “I just love cabbage.”
“The cabbage is king of vegetables!” said Birbal.
A few weeks later they were riding past the cabbage patch again.
This time however, the emperor made a face when he saw the vegetables. “I used to love cabbage but now I have no taste for it.” said Akbar.
“The cabbage is a tasteless vegetable” agreed Birbal.
The emperor was astonished.
“But the last time you said it was the king of vegetables!” he said.
“I did,” admitted Birbal. “But I am your servant Your Majesty, not the cabbage’s.”

I am Humbled - I have received much more than I have given

I am humbled and truly overwhelmed by the generosity that I have received from each one of you on this wonderful platform. Its very rare that I am lost for words, but this is one such occassion when I've tried several times to get this post going and failed. Words don't come easy to express the gratitude I feel, Thank you all for your contribution towards my growth and there is this story I'd like to share with you to express my joy at being able to partake in the loving, caring and sharing with you all. God bless you all!

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. "The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, "I don't understand." "It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other. While the greedy think only of themselves."

Have a successful week ahead
